ANNOUNCEMENT: COUNTY COURT RELOCATION

EFFECTIVE 10/21/2025

We are pleased to announce that the renovations at the County Courthouse have been successfully completed. All County Court proceedings will resume at the historic County Courthouse located at 501 East 4th Street, Lampasas, Texas effective 10/21/2025.

    Marriage License Requirements

    Both parties must come in person to apply for the marriage license. Both parties must have a valid form of identification.

    Marriage licenses are valid for 90 days from the date of application. There is a 72-hour waiting period to get married once the marriage license is purchased. 

    A Judge may waive the 72-hour waiting period for good cause. (Texas Family Code Section 2.204)

    The cost of the marriage license is $65. We accept cash, check or credit card.

    Marriage license applications are processed between the hours of 8:00-4:30. Thank you.

  • As we move forward with making our land records available online in the near future, we are also making available to you a Property Notification Service Sign Up.

    Property Notification Service is an electronic notification service that alerts a subscriber via email or telephone EVERY time a land records document is recorded with a requested name in a participating County Land Records Office. The subscriber must select a method of notification either by providing an email address or a phone number. The Property Notification Service is offered at no charge. This service will notify subscribers within 24 hours when a document with the name you registered has been recorded into the County's Official Public Records.
